PICKENS — The success of volleyball in Pickens County continues to shine through, even in the younger age brackets, as two Pickens County players have been named All-Region for their performance following the completion of their regular season.
Ali Pace and Bailee Earnhardt have been named to the 2016 All-Region Volleyball team for the USAV Palmetto Region for their outstanding play. The Palmetto Region is comprised of teams from South Carolina and portions of Georgia and North Carolina.
Pace is a sixth grader at Dacusville Middle School and is the daughter of Michael Pace and Amylynn Pace. Pace is a libero, she had been named to the 1st Team and has begun to garner interest through her “dynamic defense and court leadership.”
Pace led the team in digs and passing, but also had 148 service aces on the season and service average of 90.2%.
This is Pace’s second appearance on the All-Region Team.
Earnhardt is a sixth grader at Pickens Middle School and was named to 2nd team All-Region for her performance over the season. Earnhardt is the daughter of Jeremy and Lindsay Earnhardt and had an outstanding season as a setter and right side hitter. Earnhardt accumulated 167 assists, 85 kills, and 68 aces.
The All-Region performers play for the 12U Regional Black Team, known as “Fire,” for Carolina One Volleyball Club, Pickens Division. Both Pace and Earnhardt served as captains this season and have been playing volleyball since second grade.
