EASLEY — The Easley Recreation Department are holding position camps for youth ages 8 to 13 who are interested in playing flag football and contact football. The camps continue through July.
The camps will teach kids the basic fundamentals of football by position, increase knowledge of the game, build team unity and teach concepts of the game. The camps are free. Visit www.easleyrec.com for more information and for registration forms.
PICKENS — Summer day camps will be held for youth ages 6 to 12 at the Pickens Recreation Center, 545 Sangamo Road, beginning June 8.
One week sessions will be held June 15 to June 19, June 22 to June 26, July 6 to July 10, July 13 to July 17, July 20 to July 24, July 27 to July 31, Aug. 3 to Aug. 7 and Aug. 10 to Aug. 14. All sessions will be from 7:30 .m. to 5:30 p.m.
The cost is $70 per child plus late registration will cost an additional $35. The cost will be $40 per child for a half week and the fee will be adjusted for additional siblings for the full week.
Breakfast and lunch will be furnished through the S.C. Department of Education’s Summer Feeding Program. Each week will include on-site activities that will cover sports, movies, water days, games, bike days, arts and crafts and more.

CENTRAL – Southern Wesleyan University will host camps or clinics in the sports of basketball, soccer and volleyball beginning June 22.
A boys and girls basketball camp is set to take place on June 22-26. Individual lessons for girls basketball players will also be available throughout the summer by appointment.
Soccer gets started with camps on June 14-17 with a girls I.D. Camp for high school ages. A boys and girls day camp will be held in July from the 20-23. During those same dates a team soccer camp will take place as well. An overnight soccer camp for ages 12 and up is set to be held July 12-14. Volleyball will wrap up the summer with their camp July 27-30.

PICKENS COUNTY — Peggy Anthony, former head volleyball coach at Pickens High, will direct the 2015 Number One Volleyball Camps in Pickens County in June and July.
Sessions 1, 2 and 3 will be held at the Larry Bagwell Gymnasium, 111 Walkers Way in Easley. Sessions 4 and 5 will be held at the Pickens Recreation Gymnasium, 545 Sangamo Road in Pickens.
Session 1, for rising second through fourth graders, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 15 through June 18.
Session 2, for rising fifth through eighth graders, will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 15 through June 18. Session 3, for rising ninth through 12th graders, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 22 and June 23 and from 9 a.m. to noon June 24.
Session 4, for rising second to fourth graders will be from 9 a.m. to noon July 6 through July 9.
Session 5, for rising fifth to eighth graders, will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 6 through July 9.

PICKENS — The City of Pickens Recreation Department will register youth for the 2015 fall cheerleading and football season through June 17. Parents can register their children at the Pickens Recreation Center on Sangamo Road in Pickens.
Divisions offered will include 6 year olds/100 pounds; 7 & 8 year olds/100 pounds; 9 & 10 year olds/135 pounds; and 11 & 12 year olds/150 pounds. In the 11 & 12 year old division, the first 28 boys to register will be taken and a waiting list will be kept. Cheerleaders must cheer within the same age classifications as football players.
The birth date cut off is Sept. 1, 2015. Birth certificates are required at registration. Following registration, a skills evaluation day will be held for football participants. The cost is $45 for in-city residents and $55 for those who live outside the city limits.
The registration fee for football provides a jersey and helmet decals while cheerleaders are provided a clinic and T-shirt. Football players are required to furnish their own equipment and cheerleaders will have an additional uniform expense of $98. Fittings for cheerleaders will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 17.
