Powdersville (4-4, 3-2) has been alternating wins and losses since their week one loss against Palmetto back in late August. While their “on again, off again” approach to games may seem coincidental, there is a pattern: Powdersville has yet to win a game on the road this season.

POWDERSVILLE — The Powdersville High School Patriots came out on top Friday night with a big 44-33 regional win against the Chesnee Eagles and bringing their record back to .500.

Coach Robert Mustar’s players are currently ranked 137th in the state where as this time last season they were in the top 100.

Sitting at .500 is a precarious position to be in for a team with playoff intentions and although the Pats have currently have a winning regional record, their next game is against Carolina Academy on the road.

If there was ever a prime opportunity for Powdersville to break their losing streak for away games, this is it. Carolina Academy (1-7, 1-4) has won just one game all season — against Landrum (3-6, 1-4). In fact, Chesnee (3-5, 3-2), who the Patriots just beat, put up 63 points on the Trojans on Sept. 25.

Kickoff for Powdersville at Carolina Academy is at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
