LIBERTY — After a disappointing 35-7 loss on the road against Powdersville, the Liberty Red Devils are returning to their home field to play host to Landrum tonight. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m.

Liberty (1-3, 0-1) is hoping for their first in conference win against the Cardinals and also for the chance to turn their season around. Lamdrum has had similar struggles during the start of this 2015 season.

Despite keeping it competitive, Landrum (2-3, 0-1) couldn’t keep up with Carolina Academy’s high powered offense last Friday and ended up losing by a touchdown, 21-14. The Cardinals, like the Red Devils, are still on the hunt for a conference victory.

Both teams recently defeated Walhalla, Landrum by nine while Liberty shut out the Razorbacks 21-0.

Offensively, the Cardinals have the advantage as Landrum has been putting up an average of over 15 points a game to Liberty’s almost eight.

On the other side of the ball, it’s all Red Devil. Liberty is giving up an average of 17 points a game to Landrum’s 28.

If past games can be a reliable indicator, Friday’s game is looking to be a high scoring game. Controlling penalty yards and turnovers will be key to securing a victory.
