EASLEY — The Parenting Place is hosting its third annual “Cheer for Children” fundraising banquet dinner on Nov. 8 at the Crowne Plaza in Greenville.The gala will feature a steak and chicken dinner prepared by Ruth’s Chris, music, both silent and live auctions, and an award ceremony honoring volunteers and members of various law enforcement agencies. All proceeds will go to benefit The Parenting Place.“This is the first year we’ve held the gala at the Plaza,” said Mitchel Jaynes. “I think people will enjoy the new venue. We’re excited for the event, and we hope the community turns out to support this important cause. But even if they can’t make it, there’s other ways to help.”

After hearing the candidates for the Pickens County School Board seat two, I observe a very critical distinction in the candidates. Tony Qualkinbush and Kevin McKenzie both receive significant household income from the school district since their wives work there.
