McLaughlin Body Company establishing new facility in Anderson County, creating 250 jobs ANDERSON COUNTY—South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was at the Anderson Civic Center on Monday to celebrate more jobs coming to the upstate.
McLaughlin Body Company, a manufacturer of operator protection systems, recently announced it will locate a new manufacturing facility in Anderson County, according to a release from the governor’s office.
The $22 million investment is expected to generate 250 new jobs over the next five years.

Pickens Garden Club Celebrates 87 Years PICKENS — Pickens ladies, celebrating 87 years of the Pickens Garden Club, met April 2 to don hats and gloves and dine in the afternoon of the patio of the Hagood-Mauldin Home in downtown.

Additional SRO funding up in the air PICKENS COUNTY—A proposal to add 16 new school resource officers (SROs) to elementary schools in Pickens County has not—as of yet—taken shape in the annual School District of Pickens County budget.
The school board has hosted a couple of workshops on the topic, but district officials say an extra 700,000 in funds may not be there.
