EASLEY – Police have made an arrest in a manhunt that followed a wreck in downtown Easley on Thursday Feb. 14.

According to police, Jennifer Breen was arrested after coming to the police department to inquire about the incident.

“Easley Police arrested a Jennifer Breen, 34 years of age, after she came into our police department,” said Maj. Tim Tollison. “She was intoxicated at the time, and she was arrested at that point for being drunk in public.”

The wreck on Feb. 14, snarled traffic in downtown Easley and left a utility line dangling across South Pendleton Street.

“There was a vehicle coming up E. 1st Street to Pendleton Street that ran the red light and struck another vehicle that was going south bound on Pendleton Street,” said Major Tim Tollison of the Easley Police Department. After she (a female driver) struck the vehicle, she continued and struck a telephone pole in front of the TD Bank and then she exited the vehicle and ran.”

Tollison said that she has been charged with driving under suspension, disregarded a traffic control device, and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
