Three women were in labor on Dec. 31, at Baptist Easley Hospital, but it was Jennifer Atkinson of Easley who would hold out until the New Year, delivering her 6-pound, 14-ounce. baby boy, Mathew Lee Moore, by Caesarean section at 2:41 a.m. Tuesday morning. Mathew Moore, the father, is a truck driver and was on the road at the time of the birth.
