City officials, water plant operators, and water maintenance workers attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“We are dedicating the water plant and thanking all of the community leaders, professional staff, financial advisers, and employees that worked so hard on this project for many years to get to this point,” said City Administrator Katherine Brackett. “Having a reliable and modern water treatment facility is crucial for the growth of Pickens. This was a successful project that even came in under budget which allowed a few extra improvements to be made. “
Mayor David Owens spoke to the attendees before the ceremony and expressed his gratitude for their help in the $4 million water plant upgrade.
