PICKENS — Seven graduates of the class of 2014 have earned the School District of Pickens County Teacher Forum Educational Scholarship. The scholarships are awarded to graduating senior Teacher Cadets from each Pickens County high school.

The seniors selected must have has completed a Teacher Cadet course as a junior or senior. The students must be planning to attend a technical college and transfer to a four-year college or to attend a four-year college or university in South Carolina and must be declaring a major in Education to qualify.

The seven recipients of this year’s Teacher Forum Scholarships were:

Daniel High School: Abby Roe, winner; John Garrett, runner-up

Easley High School: Ashli Livingston, winner; Sierra Kelley, runner-up

Liberty High School: Courtney Lesley, winner; James Chambers, runner-up

Pickens High School: Casey Norton

Winners earned a scholarship of $2,150. Runners-up or students at schools with a single qualifying applicant earned a scholarship of $1,000.
