SALEM — Sixty-four golfers helped raise more than $27,000 for Tamassee DAR School during a golf tournament held April 9 at Keowee Key Golf Course and Country Club

The tournament was hosted and led by the Golf Committee of Walhalla DAR Chapter. Nan Jones is the Regent of the Chapter and Jeanie Christopher is a member of the Chapter and was the Chair of the Golf Committee.

A group of Tamassee DAR School children attended the evening festivities along with the golfers which included a sit-down dinner, ice cream bar and a live auction for a basket of fine chocolates and other goodies. The basket sold for over $500. This, along with a silent auction, went toward the more than $27,000 raised for the school.
