PICKENS — The Pickens County Cultural Commission is recognizing March as Pickens County Youth Arts Month in recognition of National Youth Arts Month and National Music In Our Schools Month.
A visual arts exhibition will be on display through March 27.
The Pickens County Museum will host “Evening of Music, Performance and Piggybanks” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 20. The event will feature performing arts students from the School District of Pickens County.
The evening will include a live auction of artist created piggybanks in a project spearheaded by the Easley Junior Women’s Club. Piggy banks were designed and decorated by local artists and displayed in area businesses during December. The piggy banks are on display at the museum. All bids must be in by 6:30 p.m. March 20.
The Pickens County Museum of Art & History, 307 Johnson St., is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free. Call 864-898-5963 for more information.
