WALHALLA — The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has released a photo of the man they think picked up an envelope of cash dropped accidentally at a gas station.


He is described as a white male in his mid-30s, tall with a slender build and possible facial hair. The man was wearing a red, white and blue bandanna.


According to the Sheriff’s Office, a woman reported that she was in Countryside Exxon, 102 Cross Roads Drive in the Tokeena Crossroads Community, around 5:40 p.m. Jan. 5. She told deputies she dropped a bank envelope containing $500 in cash while she was there.


The woman told deputies that she went back to the business when she realized it was missing but could not find it.
