WALHALLA — The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Toccoa, Ga., woman with third-degree arson in connection with an incident on June 20 in Wahalla and are looking for a Walhalla man on four separate counts related to the case.
Amy Dawn Lakey, 31, address listed as 304 Brazwell St., was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Aug. 14.
She was arrested by the Walhalla Police Department on forgery charges and later served the arson warrant by a deputy from the Sheriff’s Office.
Officials are still looking for Christopher Edward Burrell, 21, of 403 Dodge City Drive in Walhalla, on charges if third-degree arson, second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
Burrell is charged with entering the Hope Drive home on June 20 to set the fire. He is also charged with entering a building on the property and taking tools. The value of the tools taken was less than $2,000.
Lakey’s bond was set at $25,000 on the arson charge. She remains in the Oconee County Detention Center.
