CLEMSON — Clemson University police arrested two Anderson County men in connection with the theft of more than $30,000 in equipment from a university housing warehouse.

Kamil M. Tarnowski, 22, of Townville, and Andrew Nicholas Allen, 19, of Anderson, face multiple charges.

Tarnowski, a temporary university housing employee, was arrested Sunday; and Allen, who was not an employee or student, was arrested Tuesday.

Police said the incident occurred March 1, when someone used a welding torch to cut the lock from a fence surrounding the warehouse. They took a 40-foot boom lift, a welder, a utility trailer and other equipment, some of which was sold via the Internet.

Tarnowski was charged with grand larceny more than $10,000 and grand larceny more than $2,000, both felonies; and petit larceny less than $2,000, a misdemeanor. He was released on a $17,130 personal recognizance bond.

Allen was charged with grand larceny more than $10,000 and grand larceny more than $2,000 and petit larceny less than $2,000. His bond was set at $17,130, and he is being held in the Anderson County Detention Center on unrelated charges.
