Gibbs is described as a black make, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He is known to frequent Greenville and Pendleton and the City of Clemson. He is considered armed and dangerous.

According to CPD officials:

The Clemson City Police Department began investigating a report of a gunshot victim at the intersection of Issaqueena Trail and Cambridge Drive in Clemson around 12:30 p.m. Aug. 1.

The driver of a vehicle was grazed in the head by a single gunshot while the passenger in the vehicle was struck in the head.

The passenger was transported to Anderson Memorial by Emergency Medical Services while the driver was transported to Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Deputy Coroner Gary Duncan said Robert Porter, 23, of 1996 Liberty Highway in Six Mile, was pronounced dead at 1:25 p.m. Aug. 2.

The investigation has shown that Gibbs owed the victims some money and the victims had called Gibbs about the money.

While Gibbs was stopped in a vehicle at the intersection, the victims pulled up behind him. According to the report, Gibbs got out of his vehicle and walked to the driver’s side of the other vehicle. He pointed a gun at the driver’s head.

The drive apparently shoved Gibbs’ hand as he fired one shot, grazing him in the head but striking Porter in the head.

According to the Clemson City Police Department, all indications are this was an isolated incident and the general public is not in danger.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gibbs is encouraged to call Clemson City Police at 864-624-2000. Callers can remain anonymous.
