Central Elementary fifth-graders get showered with fun

The playoff system faculty and staff of Central Elementary School had been participating in came to an end May 1. The winning faculty/staff team, captained by Andy Rodgers, consisted of Lisa Alexander, Karen Barton, Lisa Cheek, Tom Polidor and Devin Yarlett. The team took on fifth graders in an All-Star Faculty & Staff vs. Students basketball game. The first installment of the new rivalry came down to the final seconds with the faculty/staff team up one point. However, the student team forced a huge turnover and Jahiem Lawson scored the winning basket. The fifth graders were presented a trophy by Cissy Floyd, the principal of Central Elementary. Shown are, front row from left, Jasmine Hawthorne, Camilla Castaneda, Jahiem Lawson, Tanner Avery, Destiny Brown, and Rohan Hayes. Back row are Raina Brown Wallace, Anna Rhodes, Heaven Woods, Serenity Mills and Aleesha Brown.
