Unite the Community’ Softball Invitational is Sept. 24 at SWU

CENTRAL – Teams from Pickens County and Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs communities, area law enforcement and area fire departments will join Southern Wesleyan University for a day of softball and a celebration of the special abilities of this special population.

This event will take place Sept. 24, starting at 9 a.m. and running until 3 p.m. at Varsity Field on the Central campus. Playing teams will be the Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, and the Central Police and Fire Departments.

Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be sold at the concession stand. Donation buckets and bouncy houses will be available, as will tables with PCBDSN and ACDSNB service information. All proceeds will go to the Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs Day Program activities.
