EASLEY — Baptist Easley Hospital has made the announcement of a new president with the new leader of the organization to take the reins beginning Oct. 31.

Todd Walker was named the hospital’s new president following a national search conducted by members of the hospital’s executive/governance committee, medical staff and foundation, along with Greenville Health System (GHS) campus president, and members of GHS’ talent and acquisition team.

Tom O’Hanlan, chairman of the Baptist Easley Hospital board of directors, said he was pleased with the group’s decision.

“We are excited to welcome Todd to the Baptist Easley family. Todd brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, and he has a passion for improving the health of our community,” O’Hanlan said. “We look forward to his leadership as Baptist Easley and the healthcare industry continue to evolve.”

Walker began his professional career in 2005 at Oconee Memorial Hospital and later became director of campus operations for Laurens County Memorial Hospital.

While at Oconee, he served on the Oconee Memorial Hospital Foundation board and Seneca Sertoma Club board. Walker currently serves on the United Way of Laurens County board and recently graduated from Leadership Laurens.

Earlier this year, he chaired the 2016 March of Dimes campaign for Laurens County.

Walker has a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Newberry College and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is married and has three children ages 5, 4 and 9 weeks.
