PICKENS — Pickens lost to Pendleton on Friday, making it two in a row for Head Coach John Boggs’ Blue Flame. On Sept. 2, they will try to turn their season around when they take on the Red Devils of Liberty.

Pickens (0-2) has been off to a rocky start this season but a win at Liberty could be just the shot in the arm that those boys in blue need to set things right.

Liberty (2-0) has been riding the high of back-to-back wins their first two games and Coach Kyle Stewart has every reason to be confident at home.

Pendleton was a shoot-out that led to the Red Devils skating by 7-6 but last week in Walhalla, those Liberty boys put up 21 points on the Razorbacks, winning 21-17.

Liberty’s defense has been particularly good at rushing the pass plays and forcing turnovers. On the other side of the ball, Coach Stewart has made it clear that penalties have got to be avoided if they want to continue to be successful.

Pickens at Liberty goes down Sept. 2 at Liberty High School. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m.
