CENTRAL — Daniel High School recently recognized this year’s Boys State and Girls State delegates.

These members of the 2015-2016 junior class were selected for the program based on the leadership skills and involvement they have shown both in school and in the community.

Delegates will attend a week-long conference this summer that is designed to educate them about state and local government.

While at the conference these future leaders will apply what they have learned by participating in a mock government system, involving party platforms, campaigns, speeches, debates, and elections.

They will also have the opportunity to hear from some of South Carolina’s top leaders about the principles of citizenship and public service.
