PICKENS — The Pickens Revitalization Association is seeking a new executive director following the announcement Allison Fowler would be leaving.
Fowler, a mother of three, made a decision to dedicate her time to her children. City administrator Bruce Evilsizor said he fully understood Fowler’s decision.
“Allison Fowler has decided to stay at home with her children and take a break from the work force. From a family standpoint, we are very excited for Allison, Joel and the three kids,” Evilsizor said. “From a Pickens revitalization standpoint, we are going to have to find another special person to fill this position. Allison will stay in touch and we know she will be there for support and encouragement.”
The position works with volunteers and city officials associated with events and programs with a focus on drawing tourism and visitors to the downtown area and the revitalization of the city center as well.

According to the PRA. the organization is a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors whose mission is to focus on the revitalization and historic preservation of the City of Pickens with a focus on the Central Business District.
The PRA director’s main duties include managing the Main Street program, handling and coordinating special events and volunteers, marketing and communication, establishing and maintaining partnerships with community and business members, coordinates and prepares for PRA board and committee meetings, financial accounting, fundraising, and seeking & administering grants.
The PRA Director will also work closely with the City of Pickens to coordinate and achieve common revitalization and community development efforts.
The first screening of resumes will be June 30 and will continue until a candidate is selected.
