Pickens Flea Market now open for public

The Pickens County Flea Market has joined spring in coming back to Pickens County and April 20 there were plenty of folks from around the region out to enjoy the sunshine and unusual bargains.

No matter what you may be looking for, it seems there is a vendor for every taste. From books to produce, to one of a kind items to, well, just about anything, if you can’t find it, you don’t need it.

Charles Majors has a unique musical instrument he now builds — the bed pan guitar. And yes, it works beautifully and is a unique addition to any guitarist’s collection. Majors began making the unusual instruments recently after a stint producing cigar box guitars.

Jim Gunther has accumulated multiple storage facilities to house the 87,000 rigs he now has for sale and may be found in flea markets across the Upstate and Georgia.

Despite the fact the Pickens County Flea Market opens only Wednesdays and has no weekend hours, it doesn’t seem to affect the number of folks who come bargain hunting.

Confederate bills, cast iron pans, books, movies — you name it. If you look hard enough, you can find it at the Pickens County Flea Market.

PICKENS — The Pickens County Flea Market has joined spring in coming back to Pickens County and April 20 there were plenty of folks from around the region out to enjoy the sunshine and unusual bargains.

No matter what you may be looking for, it seems there is a vendor for every taste. From books to produce, to one of a kind items to, well, just about anything, if you can’t find it you don’t need it.

And some of the vendors have been at their trades for years, reference Jim Gunther. Gunther has been involved with supplying fishing equipment through flea markets in South Carolina and Georgia for more than twenty years and while you may feel your significant other has too many reels but you would be wrong.

In all his years Gunther has accumulated multiple storage facilities to house the 87,000 rigs he now has for sale and may be found in flea markets across the upstate and Georgia.
