Woman charged with killing husband


PICKENS COUNTY — The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has taken A Greenville woman into custody following the fatal shooting of her husband.

Harold Anthony Arnold, 49, was found deceased in his bed at approximately 4:15 a.m. Friday at #342 Belt Road in Easley.

Initial information from a 911 call advised that a shooting had occurred and that one person was injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and were met by the victim’s wife who stated that Arnold had committed suicide while she was in another part of the residence. No other individuals were inside the home at the time the shot was fired.

A 9mm handgun, believed to be the weapon used in the incident, was recovered at the scene.

An intensive investigation throughout the day determined that the incident had been staged to appear as a self-inflicted injury and t was determined that Arnold had been intentionally shot one time in the head by his estranged wife, Rebecca L. Easterling. 51.

She has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
