PICKENS COUNTY — The Pickens County Library System has got a busy Monday planned, with a presentation about The Beatles at one branch and a children’s Christmas wrapping party at another.

Children are invited to wrap their presents for their family while listening to Christmas music and eating cookies from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Village Branch Library, 124 N. Catherine St. in Pickens. Wrapping supplies will be provided by the Friends of the Village Branch Library. All the kids have to do is bring the presents they would like to wrap.

Then, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, the public is invited to the Hampton Memorial Library in Easley to help celebrate the one of the greatest bands on rock and roll history — The Beatles. Bring your Beatles memories and memorabilia to share with fellow fans, family and friends.

At 5 p.m., Hamilton Alstatt, owner and operator of GreatWaves Digital Media Inc., will discuss The Beatles’ groundbreaking innovations in the studio.

After his presentation, enjoy listening to the greatest music of a generation as you try your hand at The Beatles Trivial Pursuit and browse through memorabilia and the library’s collection. You will also have the once in a lifetime opportunity to have your picture taken on Abbey Road.

Alstatt currently teaches audio production and technology at Clemson University and is the former director of Audio Production for such companies as Disney Interactive and Knowledge Adventure.
