PICKENS COUNTY — The search for a new Pickens County administrator continues after David McNeill passed on the job, citing “personal and family considerations.”

Pickens County Council, in a statement released today, said it learned Tuesday that County Administrator-designate David McNeill decided to remain in his current position in Transylvania County, N.C.

According to information released by the County, McNeill thanked Pickens County for the opportunity and trust exhibited in him by offering him the position. No immediate replacement was named and, for the time being, County Finance Director Ralph Guarino will continue to serve as interim administrator.

Pickens County Council next meets at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and will consider how to proceed at that time.
