EASLEY — Travis Camp was a local boy who grew up in Easley. A 1990 graduate of Easley High School, he attended Greenville Technical College and transferred to North Greenville University. He graduated from North Greenville University in 1996 with a bachelor of arts degree in religion.
Camp continued his life in Easley teaching classes at Siloam Baptist Church in Powdersville, as well as substitute teaching at Gettys Middle School, Easley High School, and Pickens High School. Camp was also an avid thespian and loved his theater family at Foothills Playhouse in Easley.
He eventually moved to Charleston to pursue his love of the written word by going back to school to earn a degree in literature.
He had a deep love for the written word, and spent many hours writing poetry, short stories, and had multiple novels and novellas in the works upon his death. He dreamed of one day having his work published for others to enjoy.
Unfortunately, he suffered a massive fatal heart attack on June 25, 2012. In the midst of his tragic passing, his parents, Bruce and Shelby Camp, began collecting his written works and compiling a glimpse into his spirit and heart.
Moments and Memories, a posthumous publication of a collection of poems, photographs, memories, and personal journal entries by Travis Camp, is now available to the public.
His devotion to family and friends, spirituality, love for the Lord and personality shine through his artful works of literature.
The book can be found in the Local Authors section at Poor Richard’s Bookstore in downtown Easley, online at Amazon.com and in the InfiniteKMC (Infinite Possibilities) shop on Etsy.com.
