PICKENS — The fourth annual Founders Day Music Festival, sponsored by the Pickens Revitalization Association, is set to begin Oct. 3 in downtown Pickens with plenty of fun to be had by all.
The festival, set to begin at 2 p.m. and run through the big finale at 9 p.m., will feature five musical performances at the Pickens Amphitheatre beginning with a 2 p.m. opening act and continuing until the Big Jam, an all-out performance by anyone who wants to join the onstage performance. Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m.
If music isn’t enough to get you out to the event, there will be other attractions as well. Local vendors will provide food, crafts and any number of distractions as the season begins its slide into fall. Locally produced food and wares, fun for the kids, and live music will round out the afternoon and carry visitors through the evening hours as well.
Headlining the musical performances will be New Dixie Storm, County Clare and Volume Five, along with other select acts from around the upstate.
The event is free to all in attendance as the PRA invites everyone to help celebrate Pickens’ musical and cultural heritage, and as they say, you’ll be “pickin’ in Pickens.”
