EASLEY — Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem invites the community to the second annual Clusters for Kids Oyster Roast on Oct. 24.

The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Arran Farm, home of Daniel and Janice Lee, at 820 Lenhardt Road in Easley. Rep. Neal Collins is the honorary chairman.

The evening will include roasted oysters and southern style buffet, along with beer and wine, music, silent auction, corn hole competitions and more.

Ticket prices are $50 for singles and $90 per couple. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $75 each. Tickets can be bought online at www.friendspcgal.org.

Proceeds will go to funding of the Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem programs that touch the lives of the neglected and abused children of Pickens County through annual Heart & Sole Back to School Shopping Day, annual Spring Fling, clothes closet at Pickens County DSS office, camps, tutoring, medical assistance, training and support of Guardian ad Litem volunteers and many other requests that are not covered through state programs.

“Over $20,000 was needed to cover this year’s Heart & Sole event, the largest number of children since the beginning of the program being served. There were over 200 children that benefited from this year’s event,” said Tammy Clark, chair of the event.

The Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem has been providing financial assistance since 2002 to neglected and abused children of Pickens County and the Guardian ad Litem Program of Pickens County.
