EASLEY –Following a recommendation by the Pickens County school district’s superintendent, an interim athletic director has been selected to replace Chris Carter at Easley High School.

“During an executive session at a Pickens County School Board meeting, Dusty Oates was recommended by Superintendent Kelly Pew to become the interim athletic director at Easley high School and the school board subsequently accepted that recommendation,” said John Eby, public information specialist for the School District of Pickens County. “Mr. Oates will now serve as Easley’s athletic director consultant for the remainder of this school year.”

Oates is a former basketball coach and athletic director at Daniel High School and is currently teaching Athletic Administration at Clemson University.

According to the School District of Pickens County, Carter left the position earlier this month and accepted a teaching position at Daniel High School.
